Trader Joe’s Fall Shopping List, including protein, produce, canned goods & more! Free downloadable shopping list!
I’ve been going to Trader Joe’s every other week, & I’ve been loving every second of it. The overall vibe of the store is so welcoming & they have such great things…especially for Fall (which is my FAVORITE season). I wanted to put together a Fall shopping list that gives a good roundup of everything I’ve been stocking up on, on my bi-weekly trips to Trader Joe’s! Plus scroll to the bottom of this post for a Trader Joe’s shopping list template!
One of the biggest misconceptions of shopping at a place like Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods is that people think that since they got the item at one of these “healthy” stores it automatically has clean ingredients or is thought to be good for you. I see stuff like this all the time. It’s still important to read the ingredients no matter where you shop! Modified oils, gums, syrups, artificial sweeteners, colors, & flavors, nitrates, soy, preservatives, & MSG are lurking in so many products. And YES, those ingredients can be found in MANY items at Trader Joe’s & Whole Foods, so don’t be fooled by the name of the store!
With that said, this shopping list will consist of items that have my stamp of approval!

PROTEIN
- Chomps Grass Fed Beef Sticks
- Trader Joe’s Sweet Italian Style Chicken Sausage
- Trader Joe’s Roasted Garlic Chicken Sausage
Chomps is one of Lilsipper’s favorite snacks…so that’s how you know it’s a great product! Similar to Chomps, the chicken sausage links I picked up are pork-free, all natural, & don’t contain any artificial ingredients or preservatives. I prefer to get my main proteins for the week at other grocery stores, because although I think Trader Joe’s is incredibly affordable, I think their meat/fish is a bit overpriced, & I want the most bang for my buck…always.
PRODUCE
- Organic Beets
- Sweet Potatoes
- Broccoli Crowns
- Organic Whole Carrots
- Riced Cauliflower
- Kimchi
- Eucalyptus
Trader Joe’s has a FANTASTIC produce section & all of their organic options are very reasonably priced. They have seasonal produce, as well as, different types of squash & root veggies. I personally really like the cauliflower rice. It’s done in minutes & is such a great alternative to your standard rice/starch.
Kimchi is a great probiotic source & this stuff is STRONG..but can be a great add on to any salad or paired with a protein such as salmon. I think the pungent flavors of the kimchi complement salmon & some slices of avocado really nicely.
Don’t forget to pick up a bunch of eucalyptus! Attach it to your shower head & it will have you feeling like you are in a spa retreat! The fragrance is lovely & lasts up to a week!
CANNED GOODS
- Organic Virgin Coconut Oil
- Raw Almond Butter – Creamy
- Pumpkin Butter
- Organic Pumpkin
- Organic Coconut Milk
- Pumpkin Pie Spice
- Everything but the Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend
- Organic Tahini
- Spicy Smoky Peach Salsa
I have a lot of favorites here in regards to the Trader Joe’s canned goods. One of my favorites is the organic coconut milk because it’s actually one of the only brands that does not add gums or thickening agents to the milk…it’s just coconut! Read more about how gums can affective digestion here! I also love using the Trader Joe’s Raw Almond Butter to make my 30-second nut milk!
Do yourself a favor & get the pumpkin butter…because it’s amazinggg. I have been adding it to everything I can think of! Also it is that time of year where we can stock up on canned pumpkin & pumpkin pie spice… because who doesn’t love baking pumpkin desserts??? I actually have a few recipes coming soon!!
Kale Junkie has the best chocolate chip cookie recipe EVER…& one of the main ingredients is tahini…I really can’t say anything other than you NEED these cookies, so grab a thing of tahini!!! Another one of my favorite items from Trader Joe’s is the classic Everything but the Bagel Sesame Seasoning…the name says it all…it’s the best, especially on avocado toast.
Last favorite…the Spicy Smoky Peach Salsa is one of the best salsas I’ve had. Ever.
OTHER
- Soft Corn Tortillas
- Cauliflower Pizza Crust
- Cauliflower Gnocchi
- Organic Brown Rice Pasta Fusilli
- Organic Red Quinoa
- Chia Seeds
- Organic Ground Flax Seed
- Trader Joe’s Taco Seasoning Mix
Everything that I make, Devin says it’s the “best ever”. I made ground beef loaded tacos using the Trader Joe’s Taco Seasoning Mix (which has VERY clean, minimal ingredients) & put them on the toasted soft corn tortillas. They were out of this world & deemed the “best ever”. And THEN he also said the same thing regarding the red quinoa. I personally am not crazy about quinoa, but I mixed in a little feta, sea salt, & lemon juice, & he raved about it for days.
I love gnocchi but NEVER get to eat it because I rarely come in contact with good gluten free gnocchi. With that said, the Trader Joe’s Cauliflower gnocchi is my new favorite. I’ve made them a few different ways since first buying them but my favorite has been sautéing them in olive oil, ghee, sea salt, pepper, & lemon juice…then adding a little garlic, a lot of kale, & the Trader Joe’s Roasted Garlic Chicken Sausage…made for an excellent dinner.
Finally, chia seeds & ground flax seeds (not shown in the picture) are great to have on hand. They are a few of the items that I am always stocked up on because I love adding them whenever I can! I bought the ground flax seed the week prior & forgot it was in my fridge when taking the photos for this post, but wanted to share because it’s actually my favorite flax seed that I have found due to how finely it is ground (comes in a green bag FYI).
I’ll be going to Trader Joe’s tomorrow to restock on a few things for the rest of this week! P.S. I will be sharing something exciting in the next post! Devin will be heading off to play his second year of professional basketball. And we haven’t really told many people where we are going! Looking forward to sharing soon, so stay tuned!
Hold down & save the image below to your camera roll, so the next time you’re in Trader Joe’s you won’t forget a thing!
