Winter Coats – The Coolest Winter Coats for Winter 2019. Featuring the best current coat trends such as faux fur, long coats, pops of color, & more!
Before I break down the coolest winter coats for 2019…the Christmas countdown is ON!! It’s by far my favorite time of year & it sure doesn’t hurt that Christmas Day is my first anniversary of being engaged! I’m not sure if an engagement anniversary is a thing but oh well, it is to me LOL! But anyways, I’m about to fly into Toronto, which I’m SO excited about. Devin’s family is also flying in & we are all going to celebrate Christmas there! Hopefully, I’ll be able to put together a post regarding Christmas in Toronto because I’ve heard great thing & I’ve been DYING to go!
Since we are now in the heart of winter, there’s no better time to break out the winter coat talk. Winter fashion is my absolute favorite but that has not always been the case. I remember being little & loathing every time I had to wear my big puffy winter jacket. With that said, my younger self would probably cringe at the huge puffer coat trend going on this year. All judgements aside, I really am into the big puffy coats & I’m also a sucker for a good long coat (I feature some great options below)!
The coat that I’m wearing in the photos is a relatively new purchase…I got it in the Fall before I left. When I saw the coat, I knew instantly that I had to get it, which honestly doesn’t happen often. I found this HYFVE Longline Open Front Hoodie Coat at a clothing boutique called Bobbles & Lace in New Hampshire. They had a ton of colors but I really loved this pink-blush tone, I thought it was so different & cool, but most importantly SO warm & cozy. I tried finding it online, but only found it in maroon, in a medium, & about half the price I paid. Ugh.
It’s shown below in the “Pop of Color” featured coats if you want to check it out, but I put together some fantastic options covering all of your winter coat desires – mid length coats, neutrals, long coats, colors, patterns, & obviously I had to include faux fur – very much “in” right now.
Neutral Mid-Length Winter Coats
My closet is slowing becoming filled with more & more neutral tones. I lean more towards neutrals because they literally go with anything, therefore making them more practical purchases. I like to think an olive green or even a deep green is considered a neutral as well because it’s not an “out there” color. My vintage green coat from my mom that I wore in my Old & New post is a dark green & I love love love it. There is nothing better than a classic coat.
Long Winter Coats
Long coats are my favorite & rather necessary if you live in a cold climate like Canada or New England. I need to be as warm as possible. A long coat can really elevate an outfit & make you look instantly put together. And before we go on, how fabulous is that Lilac Belter Puffer Trench Coat from Urban Outfitters (first coat shown below)…definitely my favorite & a steal at only $129!
Pop of Color & Patterned Winter Coats
If you’re smart about the purchase, I think a coat with a pop of color or one with a subtle pattern like the first or second one shown below, can still go with a ton of outfits. That’s how I felt about my coat shown in my pictures. Even though I love pink shades, I rarely ever wear them. With that said, I thought this was the perfect balance because the color was kinda of muted which I liked. It also gives off such a casual vibe, allowing me to dress it up or down. As mentioned above, I could only find the coat I’m wearing in a medium & in maroon. It’s the sixth option shown below.
Faux Fur Winter Coats
Faux fur is IN! I have yet to purchase anything faux fur because I’m a little more of a classic gal but I’m definitely not opposed to it. There are quite a few of the coats below that I would wear in a heart beat!
Which coat trend is your favorite?

Love the share! Coats are one of my favorite
Mine too! Thanks for reading!
These are so cute and stylish — and you’re right, they can be paired with just about any outfit! I live in Los Angeles so it doesn’t get too cold, but I’M always cold so this very well could come in handy…especially since my parents want me to go to Alaska with them. I’m a fan of the faux fur coats the most, but I absolutely love the Delicious Dolly coat!
Thanks so much for reading Kate! xo

If only we have snows here in our country, I would love to wear winter coats too. Perhaps I will just save some travel funds to be able to visit a country with snow next time 🙂
