My favorite photos from our August 8th wedding ceremony that took place in South Acworth, New Hampshire!
Today I wanted to chat a little about our August 8th wedding ceremony that took place in South Acworth, New Hampshire, & of course, share a handful of my favorite photos from the ceremony too! When we first started talking about potentially making this wedding happen mid-July, at first, it didn’t really even come to mind to have our ceremony in South Acworth since it’s not the closest to where we live. Once presented with some venue options – which didn’t take too long to decide on…I immediately fell in love with North Mowing Estate, pretty much at first sight…all the pieces started to come together beautifully!
Our wedding venue, North Mowing, was located in Springfield, Vermont & was only 25 minutes from the South Acworth Congressional Church (below). And why was this so amazing? Well this church specifically holds great meaning for Devin’s side of his family, & is where his parents were married 32 years ago! It was important to my family that we were married in a church, so although the church on the hill in Acworth, wasn’t a Catholic Church specifically, it worked out beautifully because we were able to still have a Catholic priest attend & officiate!
And it wasn’t just any priest either!
His name was Father Ray Ball & he actually baptized Devin when he was a baby & married Devin’s parents – which made it even more special that he was able to be apart of our day. Father Ray drove up to South Acworth from Concord, New Hampshire to help make things official, he gave a beautiful sermon, & blessing, & overall, it was really special having him there. He also really helped us with our wedding preparation too – I had chatted with another priest back in February when we were first playing around with the idea to have a summer 2020 wedding & that priest said, it would be difficult to fit all of the preparation in in time. And that was over a period of MONTHS! Father Ray helped us properly prepare within 3 weeks, which I was so grateful for!
And then for the church on the hill…they had been extremely strict with COVID regulations, but kindly made an exception to allow us to have our ceremony there & invite our 10 guests. It was simple, yet beautiful, & so so meaningful to have our ceremony there. The only other person aside from our guests, Father Ray, our photographer, & wedding planner, was the organist who has played in the church for many years.
Our ceremony was relatively short, since it didn’t involve all aspects of a Catholic mass, but it was perfect. I had asked my two younger brothers to read a reading & we had our other siblings, my brother, who is closer to me in age, & Devin’s sister, bring us our rings when it was time. I chose not to have a bridal party, but still wanted our siblings involved some way!
After our ceremony, we took a few pictures outside of the church & then Devin & I hopped in our white limo to head back to North Mowing, along with our families! It was picture perfect. From the church on the hill not even starting out as an option, to then working out so perfectly & holding so much meaning, I couldn’t have pictured a better place to make things official!
