Looking for a perfect pair of white sneakers? Superga has you covered! With a variety of simple styles, my Superga sneakers are my go-to for any outfit!
HOW is it the middle of August already?? I feel like these Summer months have flown by! A few months ago, in my Statement Shoe post, I mentioned how I was on the hunt for a perfect white sneaker that was simple & versatile, so I basically could wear it with potentially everything. So update: I found a pair from the brand Superga & their line of platform sneakers.
Okay so a quick story before I get into it. When I was in first grade, my mom bought me the cutest pair of platform slide-ons from the Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen line found back then at Walmart. Say what you please regarding Walmart, but the M&A line was amazinggg in the early 2000s…they had the best pieces even back then, which obviously makes sense because they are fashion icons! But anyways, back to the shoes. So I was IN LOVE with these fabulous platforms with cute red cherries on them. I wore them to an art show at my elementary school that same night…feeling on top of the world & after the show my dad turns to my mom & says…
“Let’s return those.”
So here I am YEARS later relishing in my platform shoe dreams, minus the red cherry print & loving every second of it.
Yes these Superga’s sneakers are heavier than the average shoe & they can easily become a bit clunky if you don’t pick up your feet when walking, but they are SO versatile, SO comfortable, & SO cute.
Being indecisive as I frequently am, it took a bit of self-persuasion before pulling the plug on these Superga platforms. Maybe it’s the frugal bargainer in me, but it usually pains me to pay over $50 for something. I have to really love it. And the problem I was having was I was seeing all these pics on Instagram of bloggers & influencers wearing Superga, but I had never seen them in person.
I feel like online shoppers are in a league of their own. I just can’t fully commit to online shopping, even if it’s a great sale. For me, I like to see it in person, feel the fabric, try it on, put it back on the rack, contemplate, leave the store, walk around the mall, go back, purchase the item, have a moment of regret when I swipe my card, & then the feeling of satisfaction finally kicks in once I’m home.
Yes. That’s the type of shopper I am. Oh well.
So now that I’ve painted that lovely picture for you, you can see my issue when ordering anything online. But obviously I bit the bullet & got the shoes & boy am I happy I did.
The shipping was quick & free, which was really nice & always appreciated. I’m usually a size 8 in shoes, which on Superga is a 39 because it’s an Italian brand. If I’m being critical, I could have sized down to a 7.5 or (38.5). They are a tiny bit big on me. They aren’t uncomfortably big & they didn’t cause me any pain or blisters when I was first breaking them in, which might have occurred if they were a size smaller.
Just something to consider if you purchase a pair.
I have been living in my Superga’s these past few months & love the versatility of their look. They can easily be paired with athleisure wear, a cute summer dress, & obviously jeans or shorts. As mentioned above, Superga is an Italian brand, known for their high quality footwear & timeless designs.
And most of their designs are under $100 which is amazing! When I was first looking for a pair of white sneakers, I browsed Nordstrom online & in person (along with a few other places), & I saw NOTHING that I really liked & not many cute options under $100, so when I found these hightops from Superga, I was thrilled with the $80 price tag. Some styles are even cheaper on sites like FarFetch, but you make up for it on shipping fees.
I got free shipping when I purchased from Superga, & usually all orders over $50 automatically come with free shipping by using a code found on the top of their website. They run great deals as well. They currently are running a 20% discount off your purchase if you sign up for their email list. It’s so convenient because all the deals will get sent straight to your inbox!
In the mean time, check out these adorable hightop styles I found…can you tell I’m a fan?!
