My honest review of the Daily Harvest smoothie & harvest bowl subscription service & why I love having them delivered straight to my door!
I’m so excited to be sharing Daily Harvest with you today! Last year, I posted a similar review on a brand that also specialized in pre-chopped ready to blend smoothies, but unfortunately, they went out of business last summer. I had really enjoyed the convenience aspect of it all, especially as a smoothie lover. I was relatively familiar with Daily Harvest, because they’re active on Instagram & I’ve seen some bloggers I follow post about the smoothies & how delicious they were. Fast forward to this past January, I received my first Daily Harvest Subscription Box & instantly became obsessed!! Which is why I’m choosing to share the brand with you today – because everything they offer is seriously impressive & like I said, absolutely delicious!
What is Daily Harvest?
Daily Harvest is an online subscription based service that delivers a variety of frozen smoothies, bowls, breakfast options, lattes, & more! Each item is designed by chefs & nutritionalists & contains THE BEST organic ingredients. All gluten free, dairy free, vegan, preservative free, additive free, & none of the items contains unnecessary filler ingredients, gums, sugar, or artificial ingredients. Ingredients & the actual quality of the ingredients is something that is really important to me, so this is one of my favorite parts of Daily Harvest. And not only do their items contain the best clean ingredients, but all of the fruits & vegetables used are frozen at peak ripeness so that you will get all of the good nutrients when you do go to consume it!
What Does Daily Harvest Offer?
Daily Harvest offers a variety of smoothies, harvest bowls, soups, lattes, chia bowls, & oat bowls. They also offer amazing options for many individual dietary needs. Whether you’re vegan, gluten free, low carb, low sugar, high protein, paleo, keto, or focus on a low calorie diet, Daily Harvest has something for you!
Some of my favorites cups are:
- Mint + Cacao Smoothie
- Chocolate + Blueberry Smoothie
- Broccoli + Cheeze Harvest Bowl
- Sweet Potato + Miso Purée Soup
- Apple Cinnamon Oat Bowl
- Matcha + Lemongrass Lattes
How Does The Subscription Service Work?
Daily Harvest offers both weekly & monthly options for home delivery. The more cups you purchase within your box, the cheaper the cups will be! If you’re new to Daily Harvest, feel free to use my code MADIROWAN for $25 off your first box!
The process of putting together a Daily Harvest box is very easy & the entire process is laid out extremely well. First, you enter your zip code & email address…next you select the size of your box (9, 12, or 24), then you’ll be able to select what cups you want. Each box is fully customizable & you’re able to mix or match all options. Or you can just order a box of lattes, or a box full of soups etc…whatever works best for you!
When you making selects for your box, you’re able to filter through a variety of things to best suit you. The filters include things like ingredients, your dislikes (or likes), key benefits, or dietary needs, which is really convenient. Especially if you have an allergy! This feature is found on the Daily Harvest website on the page where you’re able to look through the many options to then build your box.
How Do You Prepare Cups?
As mentioned, everything is going to come pre-chopped & frozen within the Daily Harvest cups. If you’re making a smoothie, you’ll fill the cup with your choice of a daily free milk & then dump the cup into a high speed blender. I use my Vitamix & blend everything until smooth. If I’m making a Harvest Bowl, I’ll dump the cup into a small saucepan, add a little vegetable broth, & sauté everything until the veggies are defrosted & warm. I then like to add some nutritional yeast, seeds on top, or extra spinach!
All of the bowls are able to be prepared if you have a blender or a stovetop. All you have to add is water, a dairy free milk, or some vegetable broth to help the defrosting process!
Why Do You Like Daily Harvest?
I personally love Daily Harvest due to the quality of their ingredients. I enjoy making homemade meals for breakfast, lunch, & dinner, so when it comes to frozen items/meals..I’m not willing to compromise on nutritional value & of course, ingredients. Having a freezer full of my favorite DH cups is so nice though & extremely convenient, especially if I want to throw together a quick lunch for myself or a smoothie in the morning. Also, with this whole quarantine situation going on, I love having healthy options in my freezer that I can rely on. Plus, each box is delivered right to your doorstep! The delivery dates are always spot on too, which helps because you’ll know exactly when to expect your box!
Would You Pay For It Yourself?
Absolutley. If you frequently purchase smoothies at a cafe or smoothie shop, you’re no stranger to the price. Smoothies can be pricey, as well as, healthy lunch & breakfast items – so it’s well worth it & I would definitely pay for a subscription box myself.
However, to be completely transparent, I am part of the Daily Harvest Tastemaker program. Which means I receive my deliveries free of charge. With that said, this brand aligns with everything I stand for from a wellness perspective, meaning I would 100% use my own money to purchase a box & support this brand even if I wasn’t a part of their in-house sampling program.
Whether you’re brand new to Daily Harvest or have been on the fence about purchasing your first box, I hope I’ve encouraged you to give it a try! They definitely have something for everyone, & no matter what you choose, you can rest assured that the ingredients are fresh, clean, minimal, & taste downright delicious!
