How to Create a Minimalist Makeup Collection with Beautycounter
Step 1: Prepare Your Skin
In order for your makeup to lay beautifully on your skin, you will need to prioritize a good skincare routine! Step 2: Swap Out Your Heavy Foundation
Especially as you take care of your skin, you’ll want to show it off more! Heavy foundation can be one of the quickest ways to age your skin (a very common makeup mistake). By swapping out your full-coverage foundation for a foundation that offers light to medium natural coverage or a tinted moisturizer, you will immediately create a more youthful & effortless look! I always like to say, your skin, but better!
Step 3: Opt for Multi-Use Cream Products
It doesn’t get much simpler than multi-use products! Having a few multi-use cream products in your makeup bag can help cut down on the amount of products you use! For example, you can use Beautycounter’s Cheeky Clean Cream Blush on your cheeks, lips, & eyes. Their Satin Lipstick can be used as a lipstick & lip liner. For example, if you have aging or dry skin, I’d recommend trying cream blushes instead of powder blushes because the formula of a cream blush will give you a smooth & hydrated finished compared to a powdery, dry finish.

Skin Twin Featherweight Foundation
When I want a move coverage than what Dew Skin provides, I love using my Skin Twin Featherweight Foundation. If you typically don’t love the way foundation feels on your skin, this formula will change your mind! It’s so breathable, it feels like your skin, & it features hyaluronic acid to visibly plump & hydrate your skin while you wear it! Depending on what you prefer coverage wise, you can build up Skin Twin to achieve light to medium coverage.
Skin Twin comes in 27 shades – I wear Light 230! If you need help choosing a shade, check out this foundation shade tool! To achieve light coverage, pump 1-2 pumps on the back of your hand & buff it onto your skin with a damp Better Blender. For medium coverage, pump 2-3 pumps on to the back of your hand & again, build & blend it onto your skin with the Better Blender. Be sure to wet your Better Blender prior to applying your foundation. Skin Twin Creamy Concealer
I don’t know about you but concealer is one of those beauty products that I cannot live without! I’ve been using this Skin Twin Creamy Concealer for almost 3 years now & couldn’t love it more! If you’re a long-time fan of Beautycounter, you might remember their concealer pen. The formula of this Creamy Concealer is a dream! It’s lightweight, silky-smooth, hydrating, & gives the perfect amount of long wearing coverage! But that’s not all! It features powerhouse ingredients like knotgrass extract to help improve the look of your skin over time for a firmer, smoother appearance.
For under your eyes, use the flat side of the applicator to apply the product. Use your ring finger or a damp Better Blender to gently blend in the concealer. Dab the product outwards to create a seamless finish & build the coverage to your liking! If you prefer a brighter under eye, choose a shade that is 1-2 shades lighter than your skin tone! For concealing blemishes & imperfections, use the tip of the applicator to place a dot of concealer over the problem area. Cheeky Clean Cream Blush
I never enjoyed using a cream blush until this Cheeky Clean Cream Blush! This multitasking, mistake-proof formula is everything & the shades are absolutely stunning (I have all 8)! All 8 shades were designed to be flattering on everyone, no matter your skin tone! And remember how I said one of the main keys when you’re creating a minimalist makeup routine is to use multi-use products? Well this long wearing blush does exactly that! You can use the silky formula on your cheeks, lips, or eyes!
If you’re applying it to your cheeks, swirl your finger or brush on the compact & blend the blush onto the apples of your cheeks! You can easily keep applying more based on your desired look! Whether you want a sheer flush of color or a bold pop of color, you can do both with this blush! Applying this blush on your lips is super easy too! Swirl your finger on the compact & pat the pigment onto your lips until your desired color is achieved! Rub your lips together & you’re good to go! Brilliant Brow Gel
Don’t underestimate a good brow gel! This Brilliant Brow Gel is actually one of my most-repurchased Beautycounter products & an absolute essential in my makeup routine whether I’m wearing a full face of makeup or opting for a minimal look. Why? Because using an eye brow gel to shape your brows will frame your face!
I love this specific brow gel because it gives your brows a natural tint, it’s flake-proof, & so easy to use! You’ll want to apply the tiny brush directly onto your brows & comb the product through following the natural shape of your brow.
