Reviewing the liquid matte lipstick shade “LEO” from LAWLESS.
Lawless Beauty is a brand that I have been DYING to talk about because it’s literally a DREAM for any girl who enjoys a pigmented matte lip, free of harmful ingredients!
Since the launch in early November 2017, Lawless has made big moves. The products are distributed from the Lawless website of course, but also Neiman & Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, & within the past month, even Sephora…which is MAJOR for any beauty brand. With an expanding product line, Lawless isn’t slowing up anytime soon.

You may even know of the founder Annie Lawless…especially juice lovers…because before creating Lawless Beauty, Annie was an accomplished founder of the multimillion dollar juice company “Suja“, landing her on Forbes “30 Under 30”.
Annie is a brilliant & powerful entrepreneur (not to mention very chic), who created her two companies based on her own health struggles & needs. After suffering from chronic eczema & being diagnosed with Celiac disease, she came up with the brilliant idea of Suja, which started as a small juice home delivery service in San Diego.
She stepped away from Suja in 2015, after receiving major investments from brands like Coca-Cola, to then focus on her blog BLAWNDE & her next passion: beauty.
Her mission for Lawless was to create a brand that provided clean makeup without sacrificing the performance of the product. We’ve all been there. I know I have used clean beauty products that simply didn’t perform well & it’s disappointing. You want to feel confident about the products you are using while still looking & feeling fantastic. Annie’s goal was to prove that clean products, if done right, can be just as glamorous & luxurious as top beauty brands.
Well she PROVIDED!
The first Lawless Beauty launch consisted of 8 shades of soft-matte liquid lipsticks, all named after men.
Ryan. Cameron. Leo. George. Brad. Jake. Romeo. Dane.
As a matte lip lover, I COULDN’T WAIT to get my hands on one of them. I purchased Leo, a peachy nude shade.

I have tried matte lipsticks that I loved & hated, both expensive & drug store. I have to say that Lawless is my favorite. Each lipstick is $25 & worth every penny. Lawless is LUXE, highly pigmented, smooth, creamy, can be easily layered, & does not dry out your lips or become flaky.
But here’s the best part:
It’s Natural AF. AF = Always free!
Meaning, Lawless Beauty is free of parabens, PEGs, phthalates, sulfates, silicones, comedogenic ingredients, polythylene/PEGs, talc, BHA/BHT, fragrance/parfum, benzene, lead, oxybenzone, aminophenol, mineral oil, butylene glycol, methyls, octinoxate, carbon black, chromium, siloxanes, arsenic, aluminum, & petroleums.
Lawless is also 100% cruelty free.
Annie is really committed to providing the best quality of products. For her first launch, she wanted to include a true red shade within the first 8 shades. Ultimately that didn’t happen because it didn’t coincide with her beliefs for the brand. The dyes needed to create a true red didn’t follow her brand direction & the quality of ingredients, so she didn’t include it.
She’s not completely giving up the idea of a true red shade, but she just hasn’t found the correct formula yet. Until then, she has a fabulous Rich Berry, Deep Vampy Red, & Rich Plum shade that will keep you busy.
This year she expanded her matte lipstick line by adding three new colors, with more on the way! She also has plans on becoming a full-makeup line, including a foundation, concealer, & setting powder. Be sure to check out this post for a few more of my favorite products from Lawless! Annie truly outdid herself with this entire line, from the silky formula, to the stunning clean packaging…it’s just amazing. The lipsticks also smell incredible due to an organic apple essential oil added to the formula.

I’m always excited when I find a clean beauty product that WORKS & I actually like. Now that I’m back in the US, I’m definitely going to be purchasing more Lawless & I CAN’T WAIT to see the upcoming products, especially the foundation!
