Healthy Grocery List – Long Lasting Items to Stock Up With
Hi everyone! Here today with a healthy grocery list, because I don’t know about you, but I’ve been stocking up like crazy the past couple days! It’s wild to see how things have taken a turn within just the past week, right?! I hope everyone is staying in, staying safe, & social distancing until this whole COVID-19 thing blows over or at least quiets down a bit! Devin & I returned home exactly a week ago from Indonesia (you can see our Bali recap here!) & we couldn’t be more grateful to be home safe & sound, especially with the travel bans & border lock downs!
It’s crazy how things work out!
I think towards the beginning of this corona virus thing, I definitely underestimated how serious it was. It’s easy to blow it off & to just think of yourself, but if we’re being honest, an unintelligent decision on your end could have an affect on someone else, someone elderly, someone pregnant, or someone who is immune-compromised. If you have the ability, & I know not everyone does…I think you should be social distancing as much as possible right now for the health & safety of everyone!
With that said, it’s really hard to guess the course that this virus is going to take. At first, I didn’t feel the need to stock up, but within the past few days, I’ve acknowledge the current state of the virus & decided to stock up my fridge & pantry with fresh, long-lasting, & non-perishable items in case of a 2-3 week quarantine. Not saying that will happen, but if it were, I want to be fully prepared. Which I now feel I am, thanks to the grocery list I’m sharing today!
I’m sure you’ve seen on social media the panic & the frenzy of some grocery stores.
Personally, it took me going back & forth to 8 stores to finally find some toilet paper! I ended up finding some at ALDI’s…I waited outside for the store to open it’s doors yesterday & was one of the first customers in. Safe to say, everyone else was fuming because the TP went quick. It also didn’t help that they weren’t fully stocked & only had about 9 packages left. I was just thankful that I was able to get my hands on some because I haven’t bought toilet paper since leaving for Florida back in December, so safe to say, we were running low!
When shopping, I wanted to be respectful & keep in mind that others need to buy things too, forgoing the “buy everything in site” mentality. I think the excess buying is just a result of fear & the unknown regarding the virus, which I totally get! But I just don’t think feeding into the panic is 100% necessary. Absolutely be alert, cautious, prepared, & smart, but that’s about the extent of it.
No need for added anxiety & fear!
So like I said, I wanted to take pre-cautious measures & stock up my kitchen with long-lasting, nutrient packed, healthy food & pantry items in case we find ourselves not being able to leave our home due to being in quarantine. It took me a total of 2 days to do all of my prep, but now, I can say that I’m fully prepared & ready for whatever the next 2-3 weeks hold!
In case you’ve yet to stock up or may want to add a few more things to your stock pile, I wanted to put together a healthy grocery list to help you do just that! Below is a general list of everything that I stocked up on this week in midst of the COVID-19 pandemic!

Now this grocery list is a little more than I’d usually buy & even includes some things that I typically don’t buy to begin with such as the Amy’s Kitchen pre-made frozen meals & the Beyond Burgers…but I wanted to have a diverse amount of things that I would be able to freeze & have on hand, if I’m not able to get to the store for whatever reason. Other than that, everything else are pretty standard items that I frequently buy…just not all together! And of course, everything is gluten free & vegan, except the honey!
