This blueberry chocolate smoothie is a great breakfast alternative, packed with superfoods, greens, antioxidants, & plant based protein!
I’m excited to share this really tasty blueberry chocolate smoothie recipe with you today! I whipped this together one day last week because I ran out of an ingredient to make my usual spirulina smoothie. I wanted to use what I did have to make a new smoothie, that was still going to be easy on the digestive system, had some greens in it, blueberries of course, & contained my favorite plant-based chocolate protein powder!
And it turned out delicious!
I’ve made it a few more times since then & each time I swear it gets tastier, so I knew I had to share the recipe with you all! I’ve really been on a recipe kick too for the blog. I recently got Replica Surfaces boards, which I’ve been eyeing for over a year, & now that I have them, all I want to do is take photos of food haha! So stay tuned for a handful of recipes coming your way soon!
But back to the smoothie! This blueberry chocolate smoothie is gluten free (of course), dairy free, & vegan! And I used my favorite plant-based digestive support protein powder from Nuzest, which I shared over on my IG stories last week! I’m a big fan of Nuzest already, but they now have a collaboration with my favorite gut-health blogger, Lilsipper, & it’s AMAZING! Together, they created a Digestive Support line consisting of gut-friendly ingredients/products containing stable probiotic blends! None of these products contain any extra crap including gums, fillers, stevia, or natural flavors, which is always a win in my book!
The Digestive Support Protein (available in both Probiotic Cacao + Probiotic Vanilla) is truly the only protein powder that I feel comfortable consuming. And I really don’t think there’s another option that comes close to how clean it is – not chalky at all either! Especially if you consistently struggle with digestion issues or find yourself really bloated after consuming something involving a protein powder, I’d highly recommend this Digestive Support line. It’s a game changer & if you don’t believe me, just read the reviews…they’re incredible!

So now that we’ve discussed the protein used in this delicious breakfast smoothie, let’s move onto ingredients! The recipe below is for one serving size, but feel free to double it to make a larger serving or a serving for two people. This smoothie was the perfect serving size for me & kept me full for a few hours. And for every smoothie I make, I use my Vitamix blender because it creates the BEST smoothie consistency!
Blueberry Chocolate Smoothie Ingredients:
- 1 TBSP ground flaxseed
- Small handful of fresh spinach
- 1 pitted Medjool date
- An overflowing 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup dairy free milk (I used almond milk)
- 1 serving size of chocolate plant based protein powder
- 1 tsp Moodbeli Ceremony Tonic Cacao Maca Blend (optional)
Add everything to a high speed blender, blend, & enjoy!

Me too Natalie! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
This sounds great! You could even substitute other berries (strawberries, raspberries, etc.) if you didn’t have the blueberries.
Yes, absolutely! Thanks for stopping by Tracy!
