These Statement Maker Lipsticks launched in May & are the newest addition to Beautycounter’s lip product line up. Not only are the shades absolutely stunning (scroll below for swatches), but the formula is long-lasting which is super uncommon for a clean lipstick! I have always enjoyed a bold lip, so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this new formula. Immediately after applying my first shade, I was so impressed with the color payoff & how buttery the formula felt on my lips! Beautycounter’s Statement Maker Satin Lipstick Review
I was blown away the first time I applied these new Statement Maker Lipsticks. I decided to get 11 out of the 14 safer shades offered because I love lipstick! It’s been a while since Beautycounter has had a long-lasting lipstick especially because they discontinued their Color Intense Lipsticks last year. If you’re familiar with the Color Intense, I share shade comparisons below. In my opinion, these Statement Maker Lipsticks are SO much better than the Color Intense!
My favorite thing about this new lipstick formula is the way it applies & how it wears throughout the day. In fact, I’ve been able to enjoy hours of long-lasting pigment without the formula drying out my lips. And the slimline bullet applicator doubles as a lip liner, so applying this lipstick is a dream!
If you’re familiar with Beautycounter’s lip products, you might also know about our Sheer Genius Conditioning Lipstick, you can see me try on a few shades in this Spring & Summer Lipstick post. The Sheer Genius formula is much different than the Statement Maker. Not all of the Sheer Genius shades are sheer, most are actually pretty buildable pigment wise, but they have a completely different finish than the satin finish of the Statement Maker Lipsticks. The Sheer Genius feels more like a lip balm, whereas the new lipstick feels like an actual lipstick.

Ingredients
Beautycounter does such a beautiful job of weaving in nourishing ingredients into their makeup products. So these Statement Maker Lipsticks are no different! This new lipstick formula includes ingredients like shea & mango butter, açai fruit oil, jojoba esters, & candelilla & carnauba wax. You can instantly tell this lipstick is nourishing as soon as you apply it! It feels like butter on your lips in the best way!
- Shea & Mango Butter: Provide lips with smoothing & softening benefits.
- Açai Fruit Oil: A skin conditioner with moisturization benefits known to be rich in essential fatty acids (omega-6 & omega-9) & antioxidants.

You can expect full-coverage, lasting color with this gorgeous lipstick. The silky-smooth texture will leave your lips feeling nourished, smooth, & supple as soon as you apply it. And since this lipstick is long-wearing, you can expect hours of comfortable wear time. I did multiple wear tests over on my IG stories & even after 6 hours of wear, the pigment was still there & my lips felt so good. Not dry at all! Packaging
The packaging of this lipstick is so pretty & sleek. It features a slimline PCR rectangular tube with a snap closure. Our Sheer Genius Conditioning Lipstick has a magnetic closure, so this is a bit different. Honestly, I think I might prefer the magnetic closure more, but for me, it’s not a huge deal. I really appreciate how slim the applicator is. It’s the perfect shape for delivering a really seamless & mess-free application.
Application
I love that these satin lipsticks can double as a lip liner when you apply them! You can watch me apply shade Energized utilizing the lip liner technique in this reel! To do so, just flip the bullet over & use the high point to line your lips. I like to start with my cupid’s bow & trace outwards.
These lipsticks will definitely give you highly pigmented color with a beautiful satin finish. Any time I apply these lipsticks, again, I like to fill in my cupid’s bow first with the high point of the lipstick bullet & then carefully glide the product out towards the corners of my top lip. You’ll want to repeat the same motion on your bottom lip. After I apply, I like to gently rub both of my lips together to continue to spread out the product.
If you don’t want full coverage color, try dabbing the lipstick in the center of your lips & rubbing your lips together. It will give you more of a diffused look. I have also used some of the shades just as a lip liner & then applied my Beyond Gloss on top for a glossy finish!
Clinical Results
This Beautycounter lipstick is clinically proven to provide lasting color for at least four hours post-application. Beautycounter also conducted clinical trials with 33 consumers that resulted in some amazing results!

Safety
All of Beautycounter’s products are free from over 2,800 harmful or questionable ingredients. But they don’t stop there. Beautycounter sends all color cosmetics to a third party testing facility during formulation & then again at the end of the formulation. They also test every production batch, every single time they produce it. This third party testing focuses specifically on heavy metal contamination. Heavy metals are unfortunately extremely common in color cosmetics, especially ones that use natural pigments. Beautycounter tests for 12 heavy metals: arsenic, barium, beryllium, cadmium, chromium, cobalt, copper, lead, mercury, nickel, & selenium.
