Vegan & Gluten Free Apple Crisp – My Favorite Fall Dessert

Sharing my ultimate favorite fall dessert – vegan & gluten free apple crisp, made with crisp apples, lots of cinnamon, oats, & cassava flour!

Sharing my ultimate favorite fall dessert - vegan & gluten free apple crisp, made with crisp apples, lots of cinnamon, oats, & cassava flour!

Apple crisp is & has been one of my ultimate favorite desserts for as long as I can remember. Not only does it taste absolutely incredible (especially paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream) but it also smells SO good. There’s nothing better than baking & having your whole kitchen smell just so amazing. It’s the best & just makes me so happy. Baking a good gluten free apple crisp is definitely one of the many things I look forward to in the Fall!

A week ago, Devin & I went apple picking, which was so much fun…our little excursion resulted in a big bucket full of crisp apples that were begging to be used! First I made a butternut squash & sliced apple salad, which I just uploaded a few days ago, & then I made this delicious apple crisp for a little afternoon dessert.

I still have a few apples left over, even though I used 9 in total for this recipe. I’m thinking that I’ll make some homemade apple sauce to pair with our morning oatmeal & then I’ll use the rest to make a butternut squash soup! Delish!

So for today, I’m sharing this delicious apple crisp recipe. Apple crisp is such a classic desert, but often times, it’s loaded with butter & flour, which this recipe isn’t of course, since it’s vegan & gluten free. My recipe only calls for 1/2 cup of flour & for the flour, I used a grain-free cassava flour, but that definitely can be subbed out for any gluten free flour of your choice!

And of course, no apple crisp is complete without a scoop of ice cream! I paired this warm crisp with a scoop of So Delicious Dairy Free Cashew Milk ice cream in flavor “Very Vanilla” & the two together, tasted OUT OF THIS WORLD!

This looks tasty! I don’t have gluten issues so I probably will just try with regular flour.
