Kicking off this New Year sharing some great self-confidence advice & my summarized 2020 Resolutions – personal, financial, health, & business!
Happy New Year! For my first post of 2020, I wanted to share my own personal 2020 resolutions with you all. On New Year’s Eve, I always enjoy sitting down & reflecting upon the past year…what I did well, areas where I need to improve, where I need to focus more time, & just overall accomplishments, are some of the things I look at & base my new goals off of. Now I know everyone isn’t a fan of goal or resolution setting & that’s perfectly okay. I’m not saying that in order to be successful, you have to set goals. But I’ve always been a big believer in them. Goals can & should be whatever you want them to mean or be. Personally, I believe goals act as stepping stones to help us achieve the visualizations we have for ourselves.
Last year, I kicked off 2019 with a post about how to create & actually keep your resolutions throughout the year. Why? Because anyone can set a goal or come up with a resolution. But how many people actually show up, commit to their goal, & follow through ALL YEAR LONG?
I listened to an amazing podcast this week.
I’ve been binge listening to The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast. On their latest episode, they had a world-wide global speaker & entrepreneur named Ed Mylett on the show. As I went for a walk along the beach, I listened to the episode in it’s entirety & had to actually stop in my tracks to take some notes on my phone.
At one point in the episode, they began talking about self-confidence.
Ed Mylett basically described self-confidence as self-trust. Self-confidence is the process of keeping the promises you make to yourself. Consistently breaking promises to ourselves results in low self-confidence, why? Because we can’t TRUST OURSELVES.
It’s ALL a pattern.
If you tell yourself that you want to make it your goal to get up 30 minutes earlier to make time to workout or to cook yourself a healthy breakfast & you consistently don’t do it…you break your OWN trust. Not only are you missing out on opportunities to better yourself, but you’re not showing up for yourself. If you made a promise to yourself to get to the gym 4 days a week…keep that promise!!
I LOVED this advice & I truly think it’s spot on & it’s a little reminder that each & every one of us can take with us as we kick off this new year.

My 2020 Resolutions
When I sat down to reflect on 2019 & set my goals & intentions for 2020, I focused on each area of my life individually. My blog & business, personal goals, finances, & my health. I have to say, I wrote down a whole lot. Seriously, like over 50 goals LOL. I’m totally a goal-orientated person, have you read my Enneagram post? – that pretty much sums me up haha! But anyways, I’m going to look at each group of goals, summarize them, & then plan a strategy over the next few weeks detailing how I’m actually going to make them happen.
Achieving goals take time & commitment. It takes consistently showing up for yourself day after day. Even on the days where you just don’t feel like it. Why? Because it proves to yourself that YOU are building that trust & that self-confidence that I mentioned earlier – no one else!
So with that all said, below are some of my resolutions that I’ve set for myself this year.
HEALTH
I’m SO excited to be entering into my second year of eating a plant based diet. I made the decision to transition to a vegan or plant based diet on January 1st of 2019 & stuck with it every. single. day. It’s been one of my greatest accomplishments this past year because it has helped my health tremendously.
This year I want to continue to reduce my inflammation, reduce toxins wherever possible, make time for consistent movement, because that’s when I feel my best, & I want to continue healing my skin. Stay tuned a little later this month for my first year of being plant based recap! I’m also really looking forward to sharing more health topics, including my own health journey with you all.
PERSONAL
I always have the goal to be a better partner, person, sister, daughter, friend, blogger, & business woman. So I’ll save you those boring details haha! But I also have personal goals for this year such as reading more. In 2019, I read 6 books, which may not seem like a lot, but I actually haven’t finished a book in a long time prior to that, so I was really happy with that progress.
I also really would like to make a habit of going to bed earlier & waking up earlier…I’m such a night owl, so I find this one to be really difficult. This past Christmas, Devin & I celebrated 2 years of being engaged & I would really like to set a wedding date before the end of 2020. I’m also looking forward to some upcoming trips. I love to travel & I think it really helps you step outside of your comfort zone, which I always appreciate & take so much value from.
FINANCIAL
A huge goal of mine this year is to really focus on creating a full-time income online. I want to be more mindful of where & how I’m spending my money, which I feel I’m already very good at, but like anything, there’s always room for improvement. I also want to create a better relationship with the concept of money & how I view it.
I have a tendency & sometimes get a touch of anxiety about not wanting to spend at all, so I want to work on letting that go…I’ve already started working on it, but there’s a lot to unpack there haha! I also have the goal of creating additional streams of income surrounding my online business & blog. In 2020, I want to explore different ways to expand on my creativity in order to diversify my income.
EDUCATION
I really do have a passion for education & sharing my knowledge, my research, & my own personal experiences with you all here, & on my social channels. It’s one of the reasons why I decided to lend my voice towards better & safer beauty, through becoming a Beautycounter consultant. I love this company, I really do. This year, I was able to hone in on my love of beauty, in a way that can actually HELP people.
I can’t wait to share more on the topic of clean beauty this year & beyond! And if you personally have any interest in lending your own voice this year towards better & safer beauty, I’d love to chat! It could even assist you in creating your own diversified stream of income!
EVERYDAY WITH MADI RAE BLOG & SOCIAL CHANNELS
I’ll save you the boring details of what goes on behind the scenes of running & growing a blog, but long story short..it’s a whole heck of a lot haha! Like every other area of my life, my goal is to continue to SHOW UP & put in the work. Update things, finish courses that I’m taking, research, research, research, time block, create content ahead of time, continue to put myself out there on a consistent basis, network, grow, & work smarter!
The best part about it is that I love this blog & I love what I do, so this is the fun part. I hope to start writing my first E-Book this year as well…fingers crossed!
One more thing…
My word for the year is ABUNDANCE.
I have set the intention to welcome abundance in all forms this year, & I hope you will too, because the best is yet to come!
Here’s to an incredible year ahead!
