12 Things Tuesday – a weekly peek into my life!
Hello friends! I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! I don’t know about you but it definitely feels like a Monday, not a Tuesday! I have a lot happening this week that I’m excited to share including my Japan departure date & my Finding Wilder podcast episode! I hope that you’ll give it a listen!! More on everything below!
12 Things Tuesday 5.30
1. I am SO excited to share the podcast episode I recorded last week with my sister-in-law, Micayla, for her podcast, Finding Wilder! It just went live this morning & it made me so happy to listen to it! It’s a really valuable conversation about being unapologetic about creating your dream life. We also talked about my transition from playing basketball into being a full time clean beauty advocate with Beautycounter & a blogger! You can find our episode HERE. Finding Wilder is on Apple Podcasts & Spotify!
2. Over on my IG stories (you can find me on IG here), I’ve been doing a lipstick demo for the 11 new lipsticks I got earlier this month! They’re Beautycounter’s new Statement Maker Lipstick & I absolutely LOVE the formula & the shades. I wore shade Vibrant yesterday for Memorial Day & then today, I tried on Brilliant for the first time! Brilliant is a Rose Plum shade which is not a typical shade I’d gravitate towards but I liked it! You can see the 11 shades I got in this reel!
3. Two weeks ago, I bought Ithaca Hummus for the first time in a while & completely forgot how delicious it is! My favorite flavor is the Lemon Dill & I enjoy having it with carrots! Also, I just went on their website & saw they are doing a collab with Grillo’s Pickles which is my favorite pickle brand! Fingers crossed my Whole Foods will carry it!
4. On Friday, I found these incredible oversized tunic shirts at American Eagle, which I haven’t shopped at in a while & I am OBSESSED. I got the shirt in 3 colors, white, black, & a pretty beige color & have already worn all three haha! I’ve been on the hunt for an oversized button up that wasn’t too expensive, so when I saw this one & the price tag, I was SOLD. Can’t recommend it enough!
5. I had a pretty quiet Memorial Day weekend. On Saturday, I went over to my in-laws to get some work done. I like to film videos at their house because it’s beautiful there. On Sunday, I went back to my in-laws to spend the day by their pool & to get some more work done. It was such a beautiful day! And then on Memorial Day, I once again haha, I went over to their house for a little cook out which was very enjoyable. Nothing beats a hamburger & hot dog on Memorial Day!
Also, just a note on Memorial Day, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to those of you who may have personally served or have a loved one who has served our country in any capacity. I am forever grateful for your/their unwavering commitment & dedication to preserving the freedoms we enjoy every day.
6. Japan update!! I am heading out this Saturday! I just found out yesterday, so I have A LOT to do between now & Saturday afternoon! I have quite the travel itinerary too. I fly from Boston to LAX, LAX to Taiwan, & then Taiwan to Fukuoka, Japan! And then I have to take a train to where we will be living because Devin lives outside of Fukuoka.
7. Over the weekend, I tried a new recipe using my new Grapefruit Salt LMNT & oh my gosh was it delicious!!!!! When I got my Grapefruit Salt, it came with a little booklet of recipes & one of them was for a Grapefruit Refresher. So to make this Refresher, I used 1 cup of water, 1 cup of ice, 3 sprigs of mint, & a packet of Grapefruit Salt. And then I blended it well! It’s the perfect summer mock tail! Use this link to get a free LMNT sample pack with your order!
8. There’s been two books that I keep hearing people recommend or bring up & I’m taking it as a sign to read them! One of those books is called the Gap & the Gain & I just ordered it! Hopefully it arrives in time for my departure this Saturday! I plan on bringing a few books to Japan & will hopefully be holding myself accountable to actually reading them! 🙂
9. A few weeks ago, I shared that I bought myself a new red light panel from Therasage. When I got my new one in, I realized that they had updated since I last purchased. The new panel is more sturdy & has a timer, which has been AMAZING! As I’m laying down to fall asleep at night, I prop the panel on my nightstand & have the red light shining on my face while I fall asleep. And since it has a timer, I can set it to turn off after 30 minutes. This has been SUCH an easy way for me to get more time in using my light! You can use my code MADIROWAN to save!!
10. I’m sure you know by now that I’m extremely passionate about my skincare routine. And of course, use all Beautycounter! But in my morning routine, I love to layer two serums, the Countertime Tripeptide Radiance Serum & the All Bright C Serum. The Tripeptide Radiance Serum is called “botox in a bottle” in Beautycounter world since it’s packed with clean & effective anti-aging ingredients.I apply this one first & then apply the All Bright C Serum which does a little of everything. It helps to brighten & even your skin tone, it protects your skin against environmental aggressors, stimulates collagen production, & is amazing for combatting hyperpigmentation! My morning routine is not complete without either!
11. I had an influx of DMs a few days ago when I shared my favorite gluten free & vegan cinnamon raison toast. I posted that it brings me genuine joy every time I eat it which is 100% true. Devin can even attest to how amazing it is haha! The brand is called Abigail’s Bakery & they’re from New Hampshire! My local Whole Foods carries it but you can also order online, which I’ve done as well!
12. I think this will be my last 12 Things Tuesday post for a little while. I want to get back into writing other blog posts, which I’ve been seriously dropping the ball on lately. But that is a goal I have for this summer, to get back into more regular posting & to then bring back my weekly Wednesday newsletter which is where I’ll share my weekly updates! I’ll also do some Japan posts I’m sure – stay tuned!
That’s all for today friends, thanks for reading!!
The next time I post, I’ll be in Japan!
