I’m sharing 10 Things that brought me joy this past week, with the hope of inspiring you to find joy & happiness in all of life’s small things as well!
I can’t believe I’ve been doing these 10 Things lists for 6 months now! Today I’m going to recap a little about my past week which was super up & down, because I was really sick last week & it totally wiped me out for a few days BUT I booked a solo trip to Singapore on Monday & had the best time! I wrote this post from the airport because after a cancelled/rescheduled outbound flight, it messed up my connecting flight, which resulted in me having to hang out in the airport for far longer that I would have preferred!
But hey, that’s the beauty of traveling!
So I’m already planning on doing a blog post taking you through my first full month in Indonesia…yes it’s been that long! Hard to believe right?! Like I said, I spent some time in Singapore this week, & by time, I mean just exactly 24 hours. Although it was a short stay, I had such an amazing time & actually got to do a few things that I had initially hoped to do! So I wanted to share some of what I did & the pictures I took within this post since I don’t have enough content to give Singapore it’s own post, which I SO would have loved to do! Singapore was an incredible city – I wish I would’ve had more days to spend there!
My reasoning for going to Singapore was due to us running out of time to get my visa extended. So I booked the trip on a whim & the timing ended up being perfect. Singapore was definitely a place I wanted to see, so I was excited that I was actually able to go! Originally, Devin planned on coming with me. But we just couldn’t carve out the time with his practice schedule, so I just went on my own!
So with that said, below are my 10 Things for this past week!
I encourage you to think about your week & do the same! Not every week or day is going to be amazing, but it’s truly up to us to find joy in the small things because those things really are the difference makers!

My 10 Things!
1. Challenging Myself To Do A Solo Trip
I totally get why so many women do solo travel. It’s invigorating! Although my trip was short lived, I seriously had the best time & it was so fun literally throwing myself into a whole new country with a new language (although their English was pretty good), new currency, new methods of transportation, new experiences, etc.! I was able to navigate through the MRT which is Singapore’s subway system, figured out what stations I needed to get off at to get where I needed/wanted to go, & made it back to my hotel at 10:30 pm completely exhausted!! Pushing myself to actually get up & leave the comfort of the hotel room was so rewarding & like I said, I had such a great time!
2. Botanical Gardens
I’ve always LOVED flowers. Growing up I always dreamt of doing a photo shoot in the fake floral aisle of Wal-Mart – LOL…I’m serious. Anyways, the first place I really wanted to see while I was in Singapore was the Botanical Gardens. After 45 minutes on the MRT, I arrived & spent over an hour walking through the different pathways in & out of all of the gardens. It was such a tranquil space, filled with lush greenery, incredible flowers, beautiful pathways, waterfalls, & ponds…I even saw an alligator in one of the ponds! I was a little late with my camera & was able to just catch the tail! The National Orchid Garden was my favorite. It seriously looked like it came straight out of a fairy tale!
3. Singapore River Cruise
The second thing I wanted to do while in Singapore was to go on a River Cruise! I arrived to the dock just as the sun was setting & had the best time on the cruise which lasted about 45 minutes. I really wanted to do the cruise because there were a few sites that I wanted to see & knew I could from the boat! One of them was the Merlion water fountain/statue! The Singapore city at night was just incredible & so beautiful to see all lit up at night.

4. A Glimpse of the Beach
I found a great hotel pretty close to the Changi airport where I flew into. My room was perfect, the rain-like shower head was EVERYTHING, especially after a long day of walking the city, & overall, it was an awesome stay. The morning I left, I decided to go up to the rooftop because I wanted to see the second infinity pool before I left & I was SO happy I did. Once I arrived to the top, I was able to see the most amazing view of the Changi Beach Village & clear blue waters. I was the only one up there, the air smelt so clean & fresh, & it was such a tranquil moment! I definitely took a second to express my gratitude to the universe!

5. Pad Thai
Pad Thai is one of my favorite meals ever & I haven’t had a good traditional Pad Thai in a while. While I was wondering around the Changi airport, I came across this little Thai place that offered vegetarian Pad Thai. I got it & enjoyed every single bite. It was delicious & definitely brought a smile to my face.
6. This Floral Wrap Dress from Urban
I bought the dress I have on in the first photo with one thing in mind. Singapore! It was so fun to wear it in the place I intended to when I bought it! It was such a humid day & I ended up getting rained on a bit but it was totally fine. The dress was so lightweight & allowed my skin to breathe, which was crucial because I walked A LOT! Also S/O to my Birkenstocks – I’ve been LIVING in them since arriving to Indonesia!
7. A Little Getaway
On one of Devin’s weekends where he was off, we ventured to a little beach town about an hour away from where we are staying & had the best time. I found a great AirBnb overlooking the Parangtritis Beach & it was truly the most peaceful setting! Check out some IG pics from our getaway here!
8. Gelato
Devin & I decided to wonder the streets one day after lunch in search of a really cool gelato place that had dairy-free sorbet! We ended up finding it & it was such a fun place. Not to mention, the gelato was incredible! It was such a trendy & cool little spot, you would have never guessed it was in the middle of Indonesia. It looked straight out of a major US city like NYC!
9. Bèis Weekend Travel Tote
I really needed a good carry-on for my trip over here & I ended up going with a beautiful beige weekend travel tote from Bèis, complete with a matching makeup bag. I almost didn’t purchase the two but wow, I’m so happy I did. I’ve gotten so much use out of them both already & they’re so pretty, which makes me happy every time I get to use them!
10. A Cup of Tea
I love having a hot cup of tea, seriously! It’s so comforting & just reminds me of being home. I brought a ton of my favorite tea along with me on this trip, so I’m fully stocked (thank goodness). I also recently got an electric tea kettle for our little apartment which has been such a game changer & allows for my daily cup of tea to be much, much easier – yay!

Such a great list of ten things! Your #1 really speaks to me. I used to solo travel before it was even a thing, not sure why it makes me nervous now, but can’t wait to start up again.
That’s amazing Nadalie, I find solo travel SO impressive…I would definitely like to do more of it as well!
