Chaga Skincare – 5 Ways The Chaga Mushroom Can Benefit Your Skin

Sharing five unique ways the powerful chaga mushroom can benefit your skin, including a great Canadian brand to shop for all things Chaga Skincare!

Chaga Skincare - Is this anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer mushroom the future of healing the body & skin? Here's 5 amazing ways chaga can benefit your skin!

While Devin & I were living in Canada for the past six months, we were introduced to a recovery/healing spa extremely close to where we were living. The healing spa incorporated a handful of healing practices, including chaga! Although I had heard of chaga tea before, I didn’t know too much about it, & had never tried it up until I went to the spa. The chaga mushroom is incredible & has so many tremendous benefits for healing, our skin, & our health. There’s a reason why chaga is known as the “Mushroom of Immortality” & the “King of Medicinal Mushrooms.” So with that said, I wanted to talk a little bit about chaga skincare & chaga mushroom skin benefits!

What is Chaga?

The chaga mushroom, grown on Birch trees, provides downright fascinating methods of healing. And the best part about it is, chaga doesn’t just help one condition or one area of the body. Although the chaga mushroom promotes major skin benefits, it’s not limited to just helping your skin! It’s even been found to reduce the size of cancerous tumors! Insane, right?!

I’ve been using a chaga skin cream for just about two months now, which I talk about below, but after being introduced to the immense healing benefits of chaga for the skin & the entire body while I was in Canada, it is certainly now an essential in my home. I even made my own batch of chaga tea for the first time two days ago! I started drinking chaga tea while at the Heal spa & have been dying to make my own, but I didn’t have my slow cooker with me, which is what you need to make the tea!

Read more about the benefits of chaga tea & how to make it here!

The more & more I learn about chaga, the more I want to consume it & the more I want to use it on my face in the form of a chaga cream. I’m currently experiencing an episode of breakouts due to my body detoxing & I am using the chaga to yes, help with the acne, but to also help prevent scarring, which my fair skin is very susceptible to!

You’ll seriously be amazed with what the addition of chaga into your skincare routine could mean for your skin. Especially if you have an inflammatory skin condition! Like I said, chaga is known as the “King of Medicinal Mushrooms” for a reason!

Chaga Mushroom Benefits For Skin

1. Anti-Cancer

Chaga inhibits the growth of cancer cells & can help prevent metastasis, while not harming any healthy cells. Drinking chaga has immense benefits for reducing tumor growth & preventing carcinogens, which ultimately cause cancer. Applying chaga in the form of a cream on a topical area of your body, say an area where you had/have skin cancer, or a mole or sun spot that you may just be keeping an eye on, you’re able to reap the same benefits but in regards to your skin!

2. Super Antioxidant

Antioxidants are amazing because they are able to protect our cells from free radicals. I’m sure you are aware that blueberries are a great source of antioxidants. According to the National Cancer Institute, chaga is 46 times more powerful in antioxidant content in comparison to blueberries!

Chaga, along with cacao, has the highest amount of something called Superoxide Diamatuse (SOD). This SOD helps prevent & reduce oxidative stress found throughout the body, which is SO important because oxidative stress is the cause of everything disease/chronic illness related.

The SOD in the chaga repairs cells & is able to reduce damage done by free radicals. Using a skincare product with a high concentration of chaga can be a fantastic option for treating external cells. This is also why chaga is perfect for aging skin, because of its ability to repair the aging cells.

3. Anti-inflammatory

Oxidative stress leads to inflammation. So since the SOD found within the chaga reduces those levels of oxidative stress, chaga is a very effective anti-inflammatory! The SOD, as well as, an anti-cancer, antiretroviral, & another anti-inflammatory property called Betulonic Acid, work together to reduce inflammation when consumed & when applied topically.

Betulonic Acid also works to regulate sebum secreted from the skin. This helps inhibit the growth of acne causing bacteria! Acne, as well as, other skin conditions such as eczema & psoriasis are all due to inflammation, which is yet another reason why chaga can be so crucial for finding relief!

4. Sun Protection

This part is actually pretty cool. Chaga has one of the highest forms of melanin & pigment content due to it’s dark exterior & burnt caramel colored interior. The melanin found within the chaga, whether it’s in a tea or cream form is able to provide some level of protection from the sun & UV rays! Chaga can also reduce dark sun spots on the skin!

5. Skin Support

Due to the presence of the Betulonic Acid, chaga is able to help our skin regenerate its cells. This regeneration is crucial for healing, especially if you have scarring or any other type of skin wound. The Betulonic Acid also helps stimulate collagen production which is extremely beneficial for the skin & its elasticity!

The chaga mushroom offers such amazing skin support & can be extremely beneficial for anyone suffering from skin conditions such as acne, allergic reactions, bug bites, rashes, dermatitis, psoriasis, itching, rosacea, & eczema!

If you are interested in purchasing the Chaga Skin Cream that I’ve been using, made with chaga, shea butter, & coconut oil, please send me a message or leave a comment below for more information regarding how to purchase, because this particular cream is not sold online.

Whenever you are purchasing something like chaga, it is important to buy from a trusted source. Canada actually has some of the best chaga. As I mentioned, the chaga skin cream that I use is not online, but I did find a fantastic Canadian brand called Annanda Chaga that specializes in wild harvested Canadian chaga! And they have a great line of chaga skincare as well, including a topical chaga cream!

Chaga is such an amazing gift from mother nature! I also make an only natural, wild harvested chaga cream in Minnesota. I first made a batch for my aunt who was going through skin cancer treatment and it was the only things that brought her relief. She persisted until I had it up on my website to share with others. You can find it at mybluetax.com.
